Slovakia has a lot to offer whether you live there or you visit it as a tourist.

There are lots of castles, in fact, Slovakia is in the top list of having the most castles per country in Europe, if not the world.

Also, the country (albeit landlocked, thus no sea) has a beautiful landscape, full of adventures.
Try the Slovak Paradise (link1, link2), just 30km south of the Tatra mountains for a start.
